Gulf Stream Lightweight Trailers
Gulf Stream Coach has been manufacturing recreation vehicles for over 20 years. The company was founded by James F. Shea, Sr. who was looking to branch out after starting a manufactured housing company in an old sauerkraut factory. Shea at first thought about acquiring an existing RV company, but then he decided to start from scratch so he could build RVs the way he thought best. Gulf Stream was born and the first motorhome was the 1983 Sun Stream. Today Gulf Stream is one of the top manufacturers in the country selling in all regions. Gulf Stream states, “We are privately owned and financially stable, remaining one of the largest privately owned RV manufacturers in the country.”
Because they are a full-line RV manufacturer, Gulf Stream considers all other RV manufacturers their closest competition.
Gulf Stream manufactures standard travel trailers, light-weight trailers, and fifth wheels, including toy haulers. Some of their lines are the Gulf Stream Ameri-Lite, Gulf Breeze Sport series as well as the Vista and the Innsbruck Super Lite. They classify some of their models in the light weight lines as super lite which would be considered an ultra-light. They are usually 14ft. to 19ft. and weigh in under 3,500 lbs. These can be towed by a small SUV or large car depending on the weight.
