Skyline Trailers an Ultra Light Travel Trailer

Skyline Lightweight TrailersSkyline was started 55 years ago by the grandfather and great-grandfather of the current owner, initially producing affordable housing units, known as house trailers or mobile homes. In 1960 Skyline opened their first travel trailer plant and the company has been run by generations of the family ever since.

Today Skyline is synonymous with quality and customer service. “There is no one else out there that goes as far as we do for service,” says a Skyline Trailers representative. “We take care of  the back-end. We are a long-term company and people come to us for service and quality,” he says. So much so that Skyline not only sends surveys to its customers to find out how they think Skyline is doing, gets feedback from its dealers.

Skyline Trailers believes that their main competitors are Forest River, Keystone and Jayco, but to the Skyline Trailers representative it is almost apples and oranges. “We are a small company and we like it that way,” he says. “We want to be the best boutique company in the industry.”

Some of Skyline’s light weight trailer lines are the Koala, Aljo, Layton, Nomad, Skycat, Eco Camp and Weekender. Depending on what part of the country you live there are more or less lines to choose from. Skyline is one of the larger companies that produce mostly ultra light weight travel trailers.
